What happens when you bring your car in

Drop your car off at the time booked and one of our experienced testers will work through the DVSA checklist, covering emissions, brakes, lights, steering, seatbelts, tyres, and the exhaust system. You’re welcome to wait in reception or drop the keys and head off, whichever suits you better.

Common reasons cars fail their MOT

Lights and wipers are two of the most common, and often the easiest, faults, sometimes it’s as small as a blown bulb or a worn wiper blade. Tyres below the legal tread limit and worn brake components are also frequent culprits. A quick check of these yourself before your test can save an unnecessary trip back.

If your car doesn’t pass

We’ll explain clearly what’s needed and why, and give you a competitive quote for the repairs. Most work can be carried out in-house, often the same day, so getting your MOT sorted doesn’t mean being without your car for long.

MOT testing overlaps with a lot of what’s checked during a full service, so if both are due close together it’s worth booking them in at the same time.

First time using this garage and I’m thoroughly impressed. I contacted them via WhatsApp and received an instant reply; they booked me into the Seaham branch straight away and said they’d take a look that morning. Other garages I tried couldn't help until the following week, but I needed my car urgently.

I took the car in for my appointment, and in no time at all, they phoned me with the diagnosis and the cost. I needed everything fixed and they got it all done that same day! The location is great; I just spent time walking around Seaham, visiting a few cafes, and doing some shopping while I waited. A very professional and genuine team—I’ll definitely use them again and might even book my MOT here next time.

Very pleasant staff and very helpful. Managed to squeeze me in for mot at short notice(ran out the day before 😬) even tho i could see they were busy which helped me loads. Mot was only £25 too!!! Highly recommend.
