Most tyre fitting takes under an hour

A full set of four tyres usually takes 30 to 45 minutes to fit and balance. Book before 1pm and we can often get you in the same day from our in-stock range, so you’re not left without a car for long. There’s a reception area if you’d rather wait, kettle included.

We repair tyres where it’s safe to do so

A small puncture in the tread area can usually be repaired properly, and our technicians check the tyre thoroughly first to make sure a repair will hold. Damage to the sidewall or shoulder, or a tyre that’s been driven on while flat, generally can’t be repaired safely. In those cases, we’ll explain why and go through replacement options rather than just telling you it needs changing.

Watch for these signs you need new tyres

The legal minimum tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, but grip starts dropping off well before that, particularly in the wet. It’s worth changing before you get down to the limit rather than waiting until it’s due.

Other things to look out for include:

• Cracking or perishing on the sidewall
• Uneven wear across the tyre, which can point to a wheel alignment issue
• A vibration through the steering wheel at speed
• The tread wear indicators becoming level with the surrounding tread

Correct tyre pressure matters more than most drivers realise

Under-inflated tyres wear unevenly, increase fuel consumption, and affect how the car handles, especially under braking. Over-inflated tyres reduce the contact patch with the road and can make the ride harsher. Your recommended pressures are usually printed on a sticker inside the driver’s door or listed in the handbook.

We check and adjust tyre pressures as standard whenever your car is in for a service or tyre fitting, and you’re welcome to pop in between visits if your tyre pressure warning light comes on.
